2018 - Going a little farther
appy 2018, IMPACT! Thank you all for being such a blessing to me and my family. As I shared before, many times I want to give up and walk away from my calling, but somehow God keeps encouraging me through many of you. Lately, I came to realize that Impact doesn’t really need me, but I need Impact as a family that supports God’s calling in my life. Without you guys, I probably already gave up.
Sometimes I hear people say that they don’t feel Impact people care or it’s hard to connect hearts or share life with Impact people. It doesn’t matter which church you go to; it always takes time and willingness to connect with others. I can’t push anyone to love God or to love one another, but my heart aches and prays for this family that we won’t lose the first love both for God and for people.
As a father, it brings a smile to my face when I see my daughters are getting along and loving each other. Similarly, I pray that we will continue to love each other with all our hearts and put it into action.
We will and we need to learn to do relationship better as a family; stick around, and make it work. Let’s not just walk away when things get rough. I need you to stand at your posts.
In 2018, I believe that God wants us to “go a bit farther” (Matthew 26:36-45). We all have our “Gethsemane” in life - a place or a season where we will face our giants. Jesus as our role model, He faced the cross and walked towards it in trust and obedience. Trust God, He is able.
As Jesus said, not my will be done, but God’s will - may this prayer be ours in 2018.
Happy New Year.
